Three Calloway County residents are behind bars facing meth related charges. Calloway County Sheriff Sam Steger reports deputies went to serve an active felony warrant at a home in the 1000 block of Peeler Road in Dexter around 12:30 Monday morning where surveillance of the residence revealed several individuals inside.
After deputies surrounded the home, they detained the seven individuals inside and observed a crystal substance and drug paraphernalia inside the living area of the residence. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home and reportedly found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun.
Authorities arrested 60-year old Kenneth Knipp, of Dexter, and 28-year old Jonathan Higgins, of Murray, for Possession of Meth. Knipp’s meth possession charge was firearm enhanced and he was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. In addition, he was served a warrant on nonrelated charges of 1st Degree Bail Jumping, Contempt of Court. Higgins was additionally charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sheriff Steger says another individual inside the home, 28-year old Sabrina Weeks, of Murray, was arrested on an active warrant out of Graves County for Contempt of Court stemming from charges of Possession of Meth and Possession of Marijuana.
All three subjects were lodged in the Calloway County Jail. Sheriff Steger reports Weeks was later transferred to the Graves County Detention Center.
Sheriff Steger says the four other occupants of the home were released and not charged due to the location where the meth and drug paraphenalia. He adds two of those individuals are currently on probation and required to report to their probation officer in Calloway County.
