Kentucky State Police will be looking to see if any crimes were committed by former McLean County Schools Superintendent Terry Hayes. Hayes, the former assistant principal at Hopkinsville High School, resigned as the superintendent on Tuesday, according to media reports. This comes after allegations of “inappropriate conduct,” which he has denied.

KSP Post 16 Public Information Officer Corey King tells the News Edge they have opened a case.

Hayes was reportedly suspended following special called meetings by the school board last week.

Hayes formerly served as the assistant principal and basketball coach at HHS until he resigned in 2010.

In 2017, Hayes was named Superintendent of the Year by the Kentucky Education Development Corporation.
