Hopkinsville Community College is announcing its Town & Gown Week activities beginning Monday, April 9-12. The week’s events are to be highlighted by the Inauguration and Investiture of the college’s 6th president, Dr. Alissa Young at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 12 in the auditorium lecture hall.
Yvette Eastham, Chief Institutional Advancement Officer, says in a news release “Dr. Young is a native of Christian County, a product of our local public schools and has come to this position as college president from her formative roles at the college over 26 years.” Eastham continues by saying “She also enjoys music and the arts so a special evening featuring local talent has been planned by the Inauguration Committee.”
Following the inauguration, a celebration dinner honoring the Young family will be at 6 p.m. at Black Patch Steak & Seafood. Tickets are $35 per person, which includes a choice of entrée, salad, and dessert. The private dinner is limited to the first 100 guests. To make a reservation, call 270-707-3733.
