The Lake Barkley Partnership for Economic Development announced Thursday a Texas woman has been hired as the Executive Director. Lake Barkley Partnership Chairman Tim Capps says Amanda Davenport will lead, manage, direct and coordinate economic development for the counties of Caldwell, Crittenden and Lyon.
The release says Davenport was born and raised in Denton, Texas and earned her undergraduate degree at Murray State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts in 2011. Her focus was American literature and history. She was very active at Murray and rode on the equestrian team for four years and one year as an alumnus.
After graduation, she and her husband moved back to Denton, Texas in 2012 and she attended the Texas Woman’s University where she graduated in 2014 with a Master of Business Administration. When she was studying for her master’s degree, Capps says she also began her career in local government and economic development. Davenport has served as the director of the Pilot Point, Texas Economic Development Corporation since 2014.
Capps says Davenport is full of energy and is passionate about her work with rural communities. He adds they are very excited to have her as the Lake Barkley Partnership’s Executive Director.
