22 teams will be playing wiffle ball this weekend to raise money for the Jake Hodge Memorial Scholarship Fund. The games will be played at a unique venue in Princeton called “Little Busch” stadium, which is exactly one quarter to scale of Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO. Ken Parker is one of the organizers of the tournament and says there will be over 20 teams playing.
Dennis Hodge, one of the founders of the Jake Hodge Memorial Scholarship Fund adds that a lot of great food will be available.
Hodge tells the News Edge that he lost his son Jake nearly ten years ago, and that’s the reason they started the scholarship fund.
They have received lots of community support over the years.
YourSportsEdge.com will have a team competing this weekend. Donations for the scholarship can be dropped off at the WKDZ/WHVO Studios at 19 D.J. Everett Lane just of Interstate 24 in Cadiz. Donations dropped off at WKDZ will be added to the donation that YourSportsEdge.com gives. Last year, $33,000 was raised to help area high school students with their education.
