A Russellville man was injured after a head-on collision in Logan County over the weekend.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to the wreck Saturday afternoon on Cates By-Pass Road. Upon arrival, they found an SUV sitting in the middle of the road and a pickup in the ditch. Deputies say Walter Meador was trapped in the driver’s seat due to the impact and the Russellville Rural Fire Department had to remove him by using the Jaws of Life.
Deputies say the driver of the SUV, Jeffery Smith was uninjured in the collision and said he had his 1-year old daughter in a car seat in the back seat behind him. Smith stated he turned around to check on her and when he looked up he saw the pickup truck but it was too late to stop.
Meador was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Greenville Regional Hospital in Bowling Green for treatment of injuries.
