Police say a call about a large fight on McKee Street Friday night involving several individuals with guns led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville man and three other men being cited to court.
Hopkinsville Police responded to the area and saw 24-year old Trequan Lewis, who matched the description of the man with the gun given by the caller. When Lewis saw police pull up, officers say he fled a short distance and then tossed the gun and fell to the ground and surrendered to officers. Police say they located a 9mm handgun a short distance from Lewis, and a 9 mm magazine with restricted ammunition in his jacket, along with marijuana in his pant’s pocket.
Lewis was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with fleeing or evading police on foot, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, tampering with physical evidence and other offenses.
In addition, 19-year old Jar’Quevion Kendrick, 20-year old Devorian Kendrick and 26-year old Devon Poindexter, all of Hopkinsville were cited to court for tampering with physical evidence after police say they found an assault rifle and weapons they had hidden in their vehicles.
