Several teams and individuals gathered in downtown Hopkinsville Saturday morning for the Pennyrile Walk To End Alzheimer’s in order to raise funds for the most common form of dementia, which causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior.
Co-chair Alan Toliver says the number of people suffering from Alzheimer’s is staggering.

This year’s goal is to raise $100,000. Thus far, Lisa Schaefer says they have raised almost $70,000. She adds they will be accepting donations through December 31st and encourages others to do some fundraising to help them reach their goal.

The Pennyrile Walk To End Alzheimer’s was held in front of the Christian County Justice Center and teams participated in a 2-mile walk on the Rails Trials or a short walk around the Justice Center.Donations can also be made to Walk To End Alzheimer by going to www.alz.org.
