Motorists traveling Interstate 24 in Caldwell and Christian counties need to be aware a contractor with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will restrict traffic to one lane for concrete pavement repairs beginning Wednesday.

Spokesman Keith Todd says eastbound traffic on I-24 will be restricted in Caldwell County near the 56-mile marker and near the 92-mile marker in Christian County. The work zone is expected to be in place for four to five days.

Upon completion along the eastbound lanes, Todd says the contractor will start concrete pavement repairs to the westbound lanes of I-24 in Christian County between the 91 and 80-mile markers, which is expected to take about five to ten days, weather permitting.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are along the roadway near traffic flow.

Bluegrass Contracting is the prime contractor on this pavement repair project.
