A Louisville Senator will lead the Kentucky Senate Democrats the next two years.
Senator Morgan McGarvey of Louisville was elected Minority Floor Leader. Senator Ray Turner of Prestonsburg was elected Senate Minority Caucus Chair. And Senator Dennis Parrett of Elizabethtown was elected Senate Minority Whip.
The newly elected leadership came after former Minority Floor Leader Ray Jones won his race for Pike County Judge Executive. Former State Senator Dorsey Ridley, who served as Minority Caucus Chair, lost his re-election race to Republican Representative Robby Mills in the 2018 elections.
