A Cadiz man was convicted by a Trigg County Circuit Court jury Tuesday in connection to an assault on a child earlier this year that caused life-threatening injuries.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins tells the News Edge Nathaniel Breazeale was found guilty of assaulting an 18-month child in March 2017.

According to Ovey-Wiggins, the case was tried before Judge C.A. “Woody” Woodall Monday and Tuesday. A jury found Breazeale guilty one count of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree criminal abuse and recommended a maximum sentence of 30-years in prison.

He will be formally sentenced at 1:00 p.m. on January 9.
