Former Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo is trying to get back into politics after he lost his seat in the House of Representatives two years ago.
Stumbo confirmed to statewide media sources Friday that he plans to file as a Democrat to run for Kentucky Attorney General in 2019. Stumbo previously held that office from 2004 to 2008 before being elected to the House of Representatives and then being elected House Speaker by fellow Democratic house members.
Stumbo is currently an attorney with Morgan and Morgan.
If he formally files to run, Stumbo will face Republican State Senator Whitney Westerfield from Hopkinsville.
