A Nashville country singer/songwriter with ties to Lyon County will be featured during a show held later this month to help fund a documentary being made about Land Between the Rivers.

Kentucky State Parks Commissioner Donnie Holland tells the News Edge the current Land Between the Lakes area has a lot of history as to how it was formed.

Holland adds the Between the Rivers film will show how people of the former residential area were treated when the federal government decided to make the area a national park.

Anne Fentress, who is the filmmaker for the documentary, has lots of local ties to the story.

Holland says Fentress needs $20,000 to finish making the documentary. With numerous fundraising efforts, they have raised nearly half of the money needed. Holland hopes to raise a lot of money with a special evening filled with music at the Badgett Playhouse in Grand Rivers.
