The Hopkinsville Sportsplex will officially open its doors to the public during a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Wednesday afternoon.
Sportsplex Marketing and Events Coordinator Chris Jung says the ceremony is scheduled to take place outside of the building, and then will move inside for attendees to see the facility in action. Representatives from the City of Hopkinsville, Christian County Fiscal Court, the Christian County Chamber of Commerce, Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects, and A&K Construction will provide brief remarks beginning at 4:30.
The over 5.5 million dollar facility is located next to the James E. Bruce Convention Center located at 155 Tilley Way in Hopkinsville. The Sportsplex will serve as a multipurpose facility that is approximately 54,000 square feet and can host both recreational programming and tournament events. The Sportsplex was funded through the city-county community collaboration known as the Hopkinsville-Christian County WINS committee. For more information visit HopkinsvilleSportsplex.com.
