Sheriff’s And County Clerk’s 2019 Budgets Approved By Magistrates

The newly sworn-in Christian County Fiscal Court approved the sheriff’s and county clerk’s budget for 2019 during Tuesday morning’s meeting.

County Treasurer Walter Cummings says the sheriff’s budget of more than $4.1 million has an overall increase of over one percent from the prior year.

He says the approved County Clerk’s budget of more than $1.1 million is actually a decrease from the prior year’s budget.

Magistrate Darryl Gustafson commended County Clerk Mike Kem on his ability to manage his budget.

Magistrates also unanimously approved interlocal agreements between the cities of Crofton and Pembroke.

In other action, magistrates approved pay request #11 for more than $218,875 for renovations at the Alhambra Theatre. Gustafson provided an update to fiscal court and says there is still a lot of detail work that needs to be completed inside the theater.

The next fiscal court meeting will be on Tuesday morning, January 22, at 8:30.
