Hopkinsville Man Arrested On Gun Charges

A Hopkinsville man was stopped for an expired registration tag and charged with possession of a gun by a convicted felon Sunday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police report 25-year-old DaJuan Quarles was stopped on Morningside Drive for his registration that showed being expired as of April 2018.

During the stop police could allegedly smell marijuana coming from the vehicle when they searched the vehicle a long rifle and a .38 special revolver were found.

He is charged with possession of a handgun by convicted felon, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, no registration plates and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.
