A well-known Christian County Farmer, a man who has given much to agriculture, a trusted friend and a business that serves farmers daily are all being recognized for their commitment to agriculture in the area.
During the Salute to Agriculture Breakfast at the Silo Event Center, Christian County Agribusiness Association member Jerry Gilliam recognized Randy Arnold as the 2019 Farmer of the Year. Gilliam said Arnold, who never seeks recognition, has made an impact on agriculture in Western Kentucky.
Farm Service Agency Director Coy Higdon presented the Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award to Marty Lewis with the Soil Conservation Service for his many years of dedication to the farmers he serves on a daily basis.
Christian County Farmer Joseph Sisk presented the Friend of Agriculture Award to Farm Credit Service Western Region Director Brandon Garnett for being a tireless advocate for agriculture and the farmers of Western Kentucky.
And Alan Watts presented the Agribusiness of the Year award to Coleman Tire and owner Tracey Coleman for always being there when farmers need him to get them back up and running.
The awards were presented during the Salute to Agriculture Breakfast held Tuesday, March 19, at the Silo Event Center in Christian County.
