A large crowd gathered to pay their respects for an unclaimed veteran who was buried at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville Friday morning.
Michael Hardin, a Vietnam Veteran, served as a Dental Lab Specialist from 1945 until 1968. He was also a recipient of the Purple Heart.
In a social media post Thursday evening, the Salty Vets Foundation in Cadiz stated officials were unable to locate Hardin’s family and asked community members to pay their respects.
Fort Campbell soldiers, area representatives and people in the community gathered at the internment held at 9:00.
