Emergency personnel have identified a woman killed in a fire on Fairview Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Fire Department spokesman Captain Michael Pendleton said 48-year-old Melissa Rawlings was found in the front yard of the home shortly before 1:00 p.m. and was rushed to Jennie Stuart with CPR in progress.
Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel confirmed Rawlings died at the hospital.
The fire started in the area of the kitchen but the cause of the fire remains unknown.
All four fire stations responded to the fire and the State Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to help in the investigation.
