Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin has confirmed to the News Edge that a special session will be called to try and pass a bill to provide some relief for quasi-governmental agencies in the fight to fix the state’s pension system.
Bevin says they need to pass legislation that will help the agencies who help residents across the state.
He adds they will get it done, but it won’t fix the pension issue.
In other news, Bevin is glad to see that Kentucky State Parks are finally getting some much-needed renovations with $50 million that was passed by the General Assembly.
Governor Bevin was a guest on the AT&T Morningline program leading up to the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.
