Louisville Mayor Excited About Derby Week

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is welcoming hundreds of thousands of people visiting the city for the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

As the week of festivities lead up to the historic race, Fischer is promoting all of the great food the city has to offer.

Numerous restaurants in Louisville use Kentucky Proud products to make food for visiting guests, including beef produced in Caldwell County from Black Hawk Farms.

Among the restaurants, Fischer notes they have had a big growth in tourism over the last few years.

He adds the Kentucky Derby goes a long way in helping bring new businesses and restaurants into the biggest city in the state.

Derby Week ends Saturday night with the fastest two minutes in sports at Churchill Downs.
