New Monthly Food Distribution Location In Christian County

Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland will distribute food at a new location for Christian County residents beginning next month.

Feeding America officials say along with their partner agency, Aaron McNeil House, the new location for the monthly food distributions will be on the second Saturday of each month beginning June 8 at 1600 South Walnut Street in Hopkinsville from 9 a.m. until noon.

At the new location, officials note fresh produce and other grocery items will be distributed to help provide hunger relief assistance to individuals, families, and seniors who are residents in Christian County. Residents are required to provide a driver’s license, photo ID, or mail with a current Christian County address. Volunteers are also needed at each food distribution to sort food and help load boxes into cars.

In addition to Christian County, Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland distributes food through partner agencies in 41 counties in central, south central and western Kentucky. The non-profit organization is a regional food bank that provides assistance to more than 174,000 people in those counties, annually. Through support from individuals and organizations, such as United Way, they distribute over 14 million pounds of food to more than 225 food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Their main office is located in Elizabethtown.
