Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library officials announced Monday they are reducing the price for bike rentals beginning next month.
Library Director Deanna Sova tells the News Edge the price change for the book-a-bike program goes into effect July 1st.

Sova says the Indian Physician Alliance Community (IPACS) gifted the bikes to the library about two years ago in an effort to provide a resource for a healthier community.
In April, the library announced new book-a-bike partnerships with the Sportsplex on Tilley Way and the Visitors Center on East 9th Street. Bikes are available for all ages in three sizes for children, youth, and adults and include helmets. Officials note children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and bikes can be rented for the day and returned one hour before closing time at the facility in which they were rented.
Sova says the public library continues to see increases across the board in patron attendance, program attendance, and resource circulation.
