A Hopkinsville man was arrested on South Main Street for outstanding warrants and found to have meth Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 35-year-old Gregory Shemwell was stopped after police received a tip that he was walking in the area.
After a search of his backpack meth and syringes were located. Shemwell was also found to have more meth after a second search at the jail.
He is charged with first-degree possession of meth and first-degree promoting contraband. Shemwell also had a warrant for first-degree possession of meth, first-degree promoting contraband, and violation of emergency protective order.
