Christian County Fiscal Court magistrates unanimously approved a resolution to apply for a U.S. Department of Transportation Grant for improvements to KY 115 and a proposed industrial connector route.
At Tuesday morning’s meeting, Kevin McClaren with American Engineers in Owensboro informed magistrates the maximum amount for the BUILD grant for the KY-115 project is $25 million. He notes the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet would contribute $10 million and Christian County Fiscal Court would possibly devote $1 million for the improvements on KY-115, the Pembroke-Oak Grove Road.

Squire Jerry Gilliam said he feels it is a very good use of funds.
In other business, magistrates approved the final two pay requests for more than $11,000 and nearly $77,000 for the Alhambra Theatre renovations as well as the last pay request for the new Public Safety Building for over $146,000.
The next fiscal court meeting will be Tuesday morning, June 25, at 8:30.
