Tie Breaker to Debut Teen Nite Events on Weeknights

Tie Breaker Family Aquatic Center recently announced their popular Teen Nite series will be moving to weeknights this summer.

Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Tab Brockman says the change was the result of feedback from teens when they asked for input, with students saying other activities competed with the Friday night events. He adds the city really appreciates the YMCA staff at Tie Breaker for organizing the after-hour projects.

The Teen Nites will be held 7:30 to 10:00 pm with a $5.00 admission charge, with season passes accepted as long as they are in the child’s name. Participants between the ages of 14 and 18 must provide proof of age with either a valid driver’s license, a Department of Motor Vehicle ID (which are available for non-drivers for $4.00), or a school ID. Parents or guardians can also sign their students in at the admission gate.

Highlights of the Teen Nites include music, water, and concessions, as well as Tie Breaker,  becoming a teen-only facility. Adults will not be allowed in the park, however, Tie Breaker says that they will provide supervision in conjunction with the Hopkinsville Police Department.

The park says they will be having separate nights for 8th-10th graders and another night for 11th and 12th-grade students. The first round of events were held this week and the second round of Teen Nite events will be held July 23rd for 8th-10th grade and July 25th for juniors and seniors.
