The Edge Media Group has partnered with Pennyrile Allied Community Services (PACS) to assist in Cooling Our Communities.
Trigg County Senior Citizens Center Director Cissy Lawrence notes there is a huge need in the elderly community for fans during the summer months.
Monetary donations and fans are being collected at Pennyroyal Hospice in Hopkinsville or the WKDZ/WHVO studios in Cadiz. Fans will be given to elderly people who can not afford air conditioning during the hot, humid months.
PACS Community Services Director Misty Noel adds they have other services to help the older members of the region.
Assistant Director of Services Krista Groves notes it is easy to utilize the services they offer.
They spoke to the News Edge during a collection drive Monday afternoon held at the WKDZ/WHVO studios. During the four hour period, 12 fans and $150 in cash donations were collected.
