The 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasan”, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell will welcome a new commander Thursday morning.
Fort Campbell officials say the commander of the unit the past two years, Colonel John Cogbill will pass the brigade colors to Colonel Brandon Teague. During the two years of Cogbill’s command, the brigade participated in multiple exercises and operations, and a rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center in 2019.
According to Army officials, Colonel Teague enlisted in the Army from Spring, Texas in 1990 and spent eight years serving in the Infantry before being commissioned out in 1998. He has served in many positions with the Army in Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Polk, Louisiana. In addition, Teague has received numerous awards and decorations including the Silver Star and Bronze Sar.
Teague has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University and a Master of Arts in Strategy and Policy from the Naval War College. He is married and has two adult children.
The welcome ceremony and passing of the brigade colors will be Thursday morning at 9:00 on the division parade field at Fort Campbell.
