A Crofton man was charged with first-degree assault after he reportedly dragged a police officer with his vehicle Sunday night.
Owensboro Police say they were called to Center Street for a report of drug activity and when they arrived multiple people fled the area on foot and a vehicle was stopped but the driver 20-year-old Earl Cook of Crofton refused to get out.
Officer Kyle Mullins reportedly opened the door to the vehicle and Cook drove off dragging the officer.
Cook was arrested Tuesday in Christian County for first-degree assault and first-degree fleeing or evading police.
Mullins was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
