A Cadiz man was arrested after law enforcement officers reported he was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop Thursday evening.
A Trigg County Sheriff’s Department report says 31-year old Evan Deloach was observed speeding while driving eastbound on Cerulean Road. Deputy David Tomlinson activated his lights after Deloach squealed his tires while turning on Westend Street. Deloach was followed until he stopped in a parking spot in front of Barkley Manor.
Upon contact, Tomlinson said Deloach was hysterical and claimed he was in a hurry to see his girlfriend who was leaving in ten minutes.
Deloach is charged with 1st-degree fleeing or evading police – motor vehicle and reckless driving.
