The United Way of the Pennyrile has been hard at work fundraising for their Las Vegas-themed “What’s Raised Here, Stays Here” campaign that kicked off early last month.
Campaign co-chairs Dustin Gilbert and Robin Tabor spoke to Kiwanians Thursday about the many fundraising events they have coming up to benefit Christian, Caldwell, Trigg, and Todd counties.
Tabor says they are excited about the Las Vegas theme and are proud that the campaign stays local.
Gilbert says the funds they raise are used to benefit families in area counties.
He adds the goals are divided by county for a more accurate representation of the need in our communities.
Tabor elaborates on their goals, saying they prefer to focus on the needs of the community rather than the monetary goal.
She also wants people to know their donations go further than they think, and every bit helps.
For their campaign, the United Way has several different ways for people to donate including selling Las Vegas-themed tee shirts, helping businesses host an employee campaign or participate in Small Business Week, and their United We Dine fundraiser. United We Dine involves a number of restaurants in the area who will donate a portion of their funds from certain days to United Way.
