The 29th annual Hopkinsville Community College Mike Foster Golf Scramble broke some records on Friday.
College officials report 34 teams played during the tournament which took place at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
Ted Wilson and Friends took home first place prize of $600, with $500 and second place going to Foster, Soyars & Associates. Sixth place and $300 in prize money were captured by First Financial Bank and the $100 prize for half the field went to The Glovers Team. Clayton Sumner also won the putting contest.
All players had a chance to win cash prizes totaling $1,500 and a chance to win a 2019 Jeep from Sisk Auto Mall of Hopkinsville.
Todd Morris, Chair of the tournament says hole sponsorships were up 10% from last year and brought in $7,600.
Funds raised benefit scholarships given by the Hopkinsville Community College Foundation.
The foundation is deep into its fund-raising season, with the 13th Annual Gala & Auction coming up on Friday, November 1, at 5:30 PM at the James E. Bruce Convention Center. Tickets are $50 a person, and sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information, call (270) 707-3733.
