Community Gathers For 10th Annual Pink Out

The 10th annual Pink Out featured rain showers Friday afternoon, but that did not deter the community from showing their support for the event focused on helping find a cure to breast cancer.

Edge Media Group Owner Beth Mann says when fighting breast cancer, there are some rainy days.

During the event, Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander declared October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks shared the quote life isn’t about weathering the storm, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Money raised during the event will be divided between the Christian and Trigg County Relay for Life organizations. Both have been operating since the 1990s and combined have raised over $5-million for breast cancer research.

Pink Out serves to raise awareness of the importance of getting a yearly mammogram and early detection, recognize survivors, and honor those who lost the battle to the disease.
