Additional Crews To Help Pennyrile Restore Electric Service

Pennyrile Electric is bringing in additional crews to help restore electric power to more than 3,000 people who were impacted by the severe thunderstorm winds Saturday afternoon.

Pennyrile Electric spokesman Brent Gilkey says crews have continued to work through the night and have made some progress since the storm hit Saturday.

Gilkey says the majority of damage is at individual homes and businesses in the Pembroke area which makes the power restoration process slower.

He says crews have made significant progress since the storm passed through.

Gilkey thanked members for their patience and reminded them to be careful.

Meanwhile, the Clarksville Department of Electricity reports more than 22,200 customers remain without electricity this morning.  That is down from more than 40,000 that were without electricity after the storm rolled through Saturday afternoon.

Kentucky Utilities is reporting customers in Muhlenberg County are affected by a small number of power outages this morning.

Your News Edge will continue to work to keep the area informed about the power restoration efforts that underway by Pennyrile Electric.
