A Greenville resident who is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame has written a book and will be hosting a book signing Saturday.
82-year old Billy Harlan, who recorded a couple of songs in 1968 and 1969, did not have commercial success. After giving up on the music business, Harlan would later learn his song “I Wanna Bop” became a popular song among the Rockabilly music community and is often played at music festivals.
Being a songwriter and musician, Harlan admits he did not know how to write a book, so he teamed up with Muhlenburg County creative writing teacher Lisa Winter for assistance.
Harlan adds the book is a fictional love story.
The book signing with Harlan and Winter will take place Saturday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Gracious Me! on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and are also sold on Amazon.
