The holiday season can be difficult for children in the Kentucky Foster Care system, but one local organization is looking to make it better.
Katie Batchelor says the Pennyrile Area Foster Parent Association hosts a Christmas party each year.
Batchelor adds the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) party will be held in Hopkinsville.
Trigg County resident Emaly Reynolds says adoption has truly changed her family.
Reynolds adds it’s amazing how resilient children are who have gone through the fostering system.
She notes many people are hesitant in fostering or adopting, but shouldn’t be.
Families interested in attending the Christmas party must register through their RNC worker, as the foster families must be a part of the DCBS. For more information on the party or to sponsor gifts, call (270) 889-6570.
