Effective last week, anyone under the age of 21 can no longer purchase tobacco products in the United States.
The legislation, signed by President Donald Trump, was part of a $1.4 trillion spending package signed on December 20 that amended the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
It is now illegal for a retailer to sell any tobacco product – including cigarettes, cigars, and e-cigarettes – to anyone under the age of 21.
The FDA will provide additional details on this issue as they become available.
