101st Airborne and Fort Campbell Commander Major General Brian Winski says additional security measures are in place at Fort Campbell gates due to tensions in the Middle East.
The Fort Campbell Commander says there are no specified or credible threats to the installation, the soldiers or units. He adds the measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution and will be in effect until the Fort Campbell leadership deems it is appropriate to go back to normal gate operations.
Major General Winski apologized for the inconvenience but said he wanted everyone to be prepared for longer than normal entry times so soldiers, families, and others entering the military installation can plan accordingly.
