The Founder Of The Wood Shed Has Died

The founder of a popular Hopkinsville restaurant passed away Wednesday morning.

85-year old Wilda Frances Aldridge Mathis died at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. She is a native of Christian County and worked at International Shoe Factory for over 23 years before becoming the founding owner of The Wood Shed on West 7th Street, according to Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. Mathis, Jr. She is survived by two sons, eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
