Trigg’s Tourism Impact Continuing To Grow

Tourism appears to be a thriving industry in Cadiz and Trigg County and only continues to grow.

Cindy Sholar with the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourist and Convention Commission says they were established around 1980 by joint ordnances from city council and fiscal court. She adds they moved to their current location near Interstate 24 about a year later.

Sholar notes they are strictly funded through taxes.

She says, since Bill Stevens took over as Executive Director of the commission in October 2007, they have seen additional growth.

Among many things the commission and Stevens are doing is advertising on television, radio, and print publications, as well as the internet, by way of rack cards in numerous communities that are within a day drive from Cadiz, and others.

Sholar adds many changes to tourism-based businesses in the community should continue to help increase the tourism impact.

You can follow the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourist and Convention Commission on Facebook for the latest tourism updates or visit GoCadiz.com.

Sholar was the featured speaker during the February Trigg County Chamber Lunch and Learn event last week.
