Christian County Habitat for Humanity Announces Merger

Christian County Habitat for Humanity, a Christian housing ministry, is continuing its work to eliminate poverty housing through a merger with two other counties.

Chairman Jacob Holland, the featured speaker of Thursday’s Kiwanis meeting, says Habitat for Humanity provides housing for low-income families.

He notes they have two fundraising programs during the year.

Holland says they will be merging with Hopkins and Webster counties Habitat for Humanity to increase their impact.

Hopkins County Executive Director Heath Duncan says their goal is to decrease poverty and increase the middle class.

He adds they are unique because of their ability to generate income rather than being entirely reliant on donations.

They note there are plans to continue their expansion into other counties.
