Trigg Man Charged With Second DUI Saturday Night

A Trigg County man was arrested Saturday night after deputies say he found driving recklessly along Interstate 24 and U.S. 68/80.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s reports they received a call that 50-year old Matthew Rogers driving in the westbound lanes of the interstate around 8:50 when he exited at exit 65 and made a left turn toward Cadiz. Rogers made an abrupt turn on to North Montgomery Road and started driving in the grass before he was stopped.

The report states Rogers was removed from his truck with verbal commands at gunpoint and once out began stumbling.

He is charged with his second offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, and other traffic offenses.
