In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Hopkinsville Police Department is opening a second location as a precautionary measure to protect officers and staff.
Mayor Wendell Lynch announced on social media Friday a substation has been established at the Sportsplex in case one of their locations is comprised due to the coronavirus.
To ensure the health of officers and the public, Hopkinsville Police Department spokesman Officer Mike Atkins they have implemented some changes to minimize exposure when taking some police reports.
