Governor Andy Beshear confirmed the fourth COVID-19 related death in the state and announced the creation of the Team Kentucky fund.
During his Monday evening update, Governor Beshear said an 82-year old woman from Lexington who had underlying health issues had passed away. He adds there are 124 cases of COVID-19 across the state, but his figures did not reflect the third Christian County case that was confirmed by the local health department Monday afternoon.
In addition, Governor Beshear says the Team Kentucky fund launched Monday afternoon and serves as an opportunity to make sure we can help with as many of the sacrifices made by state residents.
He adds the fund will work like many fundraising platforms.
Donations are tax-deductible and can be made by clicking here.
Additionally, Governor Beshear announced a new hotline to report businesses not following mandates.
To report a business, you can call 1-833-597-2337.
Governor Beshear adds they will be ramping up law enforcement presence at hospitals statewide.
He adds they will also be conducting surveys with outpatient surgical centers to find out what supplies and additional staff they have. If there is a surge in cases, the governor wants to make sure they know where equipment and healthcare providers are, should they need to use them.
