Walmart officials announced Tuesday the company is taking additional steps to better serve their customers and promote a safe and healthy workplace for their employees during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Officials say they will be taking the temperature of employees as they report to work in stores, clubs and facilities, as well as asking them some basic questions. The company is in the process of sending infrared thermometers to all locations, which they note could take up to three weeks.
The company will also make masks and gloves available for employees who want to wear them.
Officials say stores made operational changes in March, including closing overnight for cleaning, installing sneeze guards at checkouts and pharmacies, using wipes and sprayers for carts, and promoting social distancing.
