Ft. Campbell Seeing A Small Number Of COVID-19 Cases

Fort Campbell officials say they are on a much lower trajectory than surrounding areas concerning how many positive COVID-19 cases are on the installation.

During a town hall briefing Tuesday night, 101st Commander Major General Brian Winski says around .04% of the population on the installation has COVID-19.

Winski adds the current active cases do not require hospitalization.

He says less than a dozen of the confirmed cases are active duty service members, with a similar amount reported for retirees, civilians, DOD civilians, and contractors. Exact numbers can not be released due to new restrictions from the Department of Defense.

Officials add the same restrictions remain in effect across the installation and they are reviewed weekly, if not daily.

Winski says they encourage everyone to make good decisions as they move forward through the pandemic and gave praise to the team on Fort Campbell.

He ensures every decision is made wisely.
