Magistrates Approve Applying For Grant For Industrial Connector

During a short Christian County Fiscal Court virtual meeting Tuesday morning, magistrates adopted a resolution to reapply for a federal grant for the widening of Kentucky 115 from Interstate 24 toward Pembroke with a new connector into Industrial Commerce Park #2.

Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the application is a partnership with the City of Hopkinsville.

The same resolution for the BUILD grant through the Federal Highway Administration was unanimously approved by Hopkinsville City Council at the April 21st meeting.

This is the second time the city and county have partnered to apply for the grant after the application made the final round but were not awarded any funding. Magistrate Jerry Gilliam says he feels good about this year’s application and the impact the funding will have on our region.

Magistrate Phillip Peterson says he agrees with Squire Gilliam that this will benefit the county.

Also at the meeting, Judge Tribble read a proclamation and claimed April as Fair Housing Month.

The next regular Christian County Fiscal Court meeting will be Tuesday morning, May 12, at 8:30.
