An abandoned residence was a total loss in an evening fire Tuesday.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says that crews were dispatched to reports of a structure fire in the 1000 block of Nichols Road just after 6:30. He adds that when crews arrived they found an abandoned double-wide trailer fully engulfed in flames.
Chief Francis notes that the fire was believed to have originated along a nearby ditch line and spread to the structure due to high winds. He states that firefighters were on scene battling the blaze for over three hours and had to utilize two of the department’s three tankers.
The Princeton Fire Department was assisted by the Fredonia Fire Department, who were on standby to provide mutual aid should another event happen within the county.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
