Jennie Stuart Health will begin reopening more services that were previously closed because of COVID-19 mandates from Governor Andy Beshear.
The phased reopening of services will begin Monday in accordance with Kentucky Public Health guidelines. According to a news release from the hospital, the initial phase will include resuming operations of outpatient services at the Medical Imaging Center and Express Lab on Eagle Way Bypass. They add outpatient imaging services and scheduling of outpatient procedures at the main hospital have already resumed.
Physical and Occupational Therapy services are also reopening and have already started calling patients who were previously scheduled. The hospital reports therapy appointments will be phased in over the next two or three weeks as they work to serve existing appointments and receive new patients.
Beth McCraw, Jennie Stuarts chief nursing officer, says anyone coming to a Jennie Stuart facility will continue to see changes in how the staff interacts with the patients.
McCraw also says people coming to a Jennie Stuart facility will need to wear a surgical mask.
Federal and state guidelines say Jennie Stuart Health must continue to maintain protective restrictions with staff and patients wearing masks and participating in temperature checks prior to entering their facilities. Patients with a fever or symptoms of illness and those who may have been exposed to COVID-19 are asked to call and reschedule their appointment.
Hospital officials say plans are in place to resume operations of other services including the Ambulatory Surgery Center and main campus elective surgeries. Services that will reopen in subsequent phases include the Convenient Care Clinic, Geriatric Behavioral Health, Sleep Lab, and Pulmonary Cardiac Rehabilitation.
