Governor Andy Beshear says they believe COVID-19 cases have stabilized at Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville.
During his Friday update, the governor says around 21% of the 110 residents have been tested.
In addition, Governor Beshear reported 177 new cases which bring the statewide total to 4,789. Of those cases, 5 were reported in Hopkins and 3 in Christian County. A little over 1,750 people have fully recovered.
Eight new deaths were reported, meaning 248 residents have died across the Commonwealth. One of the deaths involved an 86-year old female from Marshall County and a staff member from a long-term facility who lived in Adair County.
In other news, Governor Beshear is again asking residents to complete the 2020 Census. As of Friday afternoon, Kentucky was ranked 13th out of 50 in state rankings on who has completed the population count that is conducted every ten years.
